Mahogany Lake
The Mahogany Beach 2 Beach 1.2km swim is an open water event held on the crystal-clear waters of Mahogany Lake in Calgary, AB. Starting on the sandy shoreline of one beach, the course takes swimmers along a route that connects the two main beaches within the community.
Surrounded by beautiful homes, vibrant green space, and cheering spectators, participants experience the unique thrill of a safe but challenging open water swim. This approachable distance makes it ideal for newcomers to open water racing, while still offering seasoned swimmers the chance to push their pace across a stunning venue.
Buoys guide the course, lifeguards and safety kayaks ensure a secure swim, and the finish line welcomes athletes with energy, support, and a true celebration of lake life in Mahogany.

Resident Information
Please note that portions of Mahogany Lake will be reserved for the swim course during the event.
Residents may notice:
- Increased activity around both beaches
- Temporary restrictions on portions of the lake during the race
- Additional volunteers and safety personnel
- Athlete parking and pedestrian traffic throughout the morning
Regular operations will resume once the event concludes and the course has been cleared.
Athletes will follow a buoy-marked course across the lake, supported by certified lifeguards, paddle craft, and on-water safety personnel throughout the event.

Thinking About Participating?
The Beach 2 Beach Swim is designed for swimmers who can comfortably swim approximately 1,500 meters in a pool. Participants must be at least 10 years old on race day.
Wetsuits are optional but strongly recommended for comfort and warmth.
Mahogany residents receive discounted registration pricing for the Beach 2 Beach Swim.
Proof of residency (driver’s licence with Mahogany address) is required at package pickup.
