Parade of Lights & Tree of Hope

Parade of Lights & Tree of Hope

The first Saturday of December (December 7, 2024), kicks off the Christmas Season in Mahogany! Santa and Mrs. Claus are able to get away from the North Pole during this busy time, and join in the festivities. Residents line the streets to show their holiday spirit and cheer for local businesses and community groups that have come together to create floats for Mahogany’s very own parade! Following the parade, head on over to the Beach Club, grab a cup of hot chocolate and cheer on the lighting of the Tree of Hope! Coloured light bulbs can be purchased ahead of time, with all proceeds going towards the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank.

Parade of Lights

December 7, 2024 from 5:00 PM — 6:00 PM

Come one, come all! Dress in your winter woolies, add a splash of holiday accents and join us in Mahogany for the 6th Annual Parade of Lights! Santa and Mrs. Claus are able to make the trip down to join us! Local residents, groups and businesses can enter the parade for free. So start gathering your float ideas and register to participate. Spectators can vote the “People’s Choice” for the best float and Santa and the Mrs., will vote for the “Best Decorated House” along the parade route. There will be a ‘Toy Drive’ in the parade and we will be collecting new, unwrapped toys to be donated to those less fortunate. Can’t wait to see you there!!

Registration for float participation in the parade will open soon. Stay tuned!

Tree of Hope

December 7, 2024 from 6:00 PM — 7:00 PM

Following the parade, head on over to the Mahogany Beach Club for the lighting of the Tree of Hope! (approximately at 6:30pm) Light bulbs go on sale in October and can be purchased online through your account or at the Mahogany Beach Club office. Proceeds go to the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank. Every $1 raised buys $5 worth of food. The more coloured bulbs we see on the tree, the bigger the donation! So grab a cup of Hot Chocolate, gather round the tree, and help us celebrate the lighting of the Tree of Hope!

Information about bulb purchases will be available soon. Stay tuned to find out how you can give back this holiday season!
