As you surely know, Alberta is having a province-wide referendum on October 19th with a number of issues on the ballot, and most impactful is the vote to stay within Canada or to explore separation further.
The MHOA always strongly encourages people to vote in every election. Information from Elections Alberta shows that we can expect a higher turnout and longer wait times.
Thankfully, there is an easier option: Elections Alberta offers Mail-In Ballots (also known as Special Ballots), so you can vote from home. Requests for a Mail-In “Special” Ballot must be submitted by September 25th and completed ballots must be received back by 5:00 p.m. on October 16th, so be sure to apply early.
The MHOA encourages you, your family, and anyone you know to request a ballot and vote. If you have questions about the referendum, we encourage you to review the official information from Elections Alberta and those important conversations with the people you trust. Most importantly, make your choice count and vote easier by requesting a Mail-In “Special” Ballot.
Your vote matters, and the future of Alberta and Canada matters to all of us.
Thank you,
Mahogany HOA
