This past weekend’s Beach Blaster was a busy, fun-filled event for our community! From giant inflatables and games to music, beach activities, and community fun, it was wonderful to see so many families enjoying a fantastic day together at the Mahogany Beach Club.
With thousands of residents and guests in attendance, our team also responded to multiple missing person incidents brought to our attention. As part of our established emergency response procedures, our staff immediately activated police, fire, and ambulance to the beach club.
The MHOA wants to reassure the community that this response is intentional and a direct reflection of our structured, efficient emergency protocols and the quick action of our team to maintain a safe environment. When a person is reported missing, every second counts. Our emergency response plan is designed to mobilize staff and emergency responders quickly, ensuring that search efforts begin immediately and every available resource is used to reunite families as safely and efficiently as possible.

Thanks to the thorough work of our staff, residents, guests, and EMS, all incidents were successfully resolved, and everyone was safely reunited with their families.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who attended Beach Blaster. You listened to staff announcements, cleared the water, and came together as a community to help.
Busy environments can make announcements difficult to hear, and everyone willingly cooperated so we could swiftly resolve these situations.

Before You Go
Safety Starts Before You Arrive
Whether you’re attending a community event or simply enjoying a regular day at the beach, having a family safety plan is one of the best ways to prepare for a busy environment.
Before heading out, choose a clearly identifiable meeting location (like the flagpole!) where everyone in your group knows to go if they become separated. Make sure every family member understands that if they cannot find one another, they should remain at that designated meeting point and wait for the rest of the group.
It’s also important to talk with children before arriving at the lake. Review expectations for staying close to trusted adults, avoiding wandering off, and what to do if they ever feel lost. Excitement and distractions happen, but having these conversations ahead of time can make all the difference.
Remember to always practice active supervision and keep young children within arm’s reach whenever they are in or around the water.

ON EVENT DAYS
The Lost Child Station
One of the most important safety resources available at every major MHOA event is our Lost Child Station. As you enter an event, you’ll find our Lost Child Station near the entrance; families are encouraged to stop by and pick up a complimentary wristband where our staff will write a parent or guardian’s primary phone number.
We’ll then show parents and children where the Lost Child Station is located at the flagpole, and explain that if they ever become separated from their family or group, they should go directly there and stay with our staff. Our team will keep them safe and comfortable while contacting their family.
This simple step can significantly reduce stress during large events and help us reunite families even more quickly.
RESIDENT REMINDERS
When Bringing Guests
Members are responsible for the actions and behaviours of the guests they bring into MHOA parks and facilities and must remain with them throughout their visit. Guests must be signed in at either the Mahogany Beach Club or West Beach entrance before entering, and members are required to sign them out when leaving.
