Get ready for a week of exploration, nature discovery, and unforgettable adventures at Mahogany’s Adventure in the Wild Outdoor Summer Camp. Designed for curious young explorers, this exciting camp combines hands-on learning, active outdoor play, and creative challenges that encourage children to connect with the natural world.
Campers will discover local wildlife, participate in nature-themed games and scavenger hunts, build teamwork skills through outdoor challenges, and develop a deeper appreciation for the environment. Every day brings a new adventure designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and create lasting summer memories.
Located at the Mahogany Beach Club in southeast Calgary, Adventure in the Wild offers the perfect balance of recreation, learning, and outdoor fun.

Please Note: No camp on July 1
Ages: 5–7 and 8–12
Age groups are run separately to ensure activities remain age-appropriate and engaging for all.

Camp Highlights
Special Field Trip: Earth Rangers
Adventure in the Wild includes a special field trip to Earth Rangers, where campers will experience hands-on environmental education and learn about wildlife, conservation, and the natural world through engaging activities and presentations. This exciting excursion helps bring the week’s outdoor themes to life while creating memorable experiences for every camper.

Daily Swim to Survive® & Safety
At Mahogany, water safety is an important part of every camp experience. All campers participating in Adventure in the Wild will take part in daily Open-Water Swim to Survive® training led by certified Lifesaving Society instructors. Campers will learn essential water safety skills including:
- Open-water awareness
- Safe swimming techniques
- Floating for self-rescue
- Treading water
- Safe water entry and exit practices
- Building confidence around lakes and open water
Swimming activities are weather dependent, but are planned to take place daily throughout the week.
Safety Is Our Priority
The safety and well-being of our campers is at the heart of everything we do. During water-based activities:
- Swim to Survive® instruction is led by certified Lifesaving Society instructors.
- Campers remain in designated shallow-water areas.
- Children under 8-years-old wear lifejackets at all times.
- Children ages 8–12 wear lifejackets unless a parent of guardian waiver has been signed.
- Campers remain within arm's reach of camp leaders when not in formal instruction.
- Strict supervision ratios and safety protocols are maintained throughout all activities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Before and After Care included?
Yes! Before Care (7:30–8:30 AM) and After Care (4:30–5:30 PM) are included with registration.
Does my child need outdoor experience?
Not at all. Adventure in the Wild is designed for children of all experience levels.
Will campers participate in swimming?
Yes. Campers take part in daily Swim to Survive® water safety training led by certified Lifesaving Society instructors.
What should campers bring?
A detailed camp information package will be provided prior to the start of this camp.
