Lake Designation
- Mahogany Lake is an Open Unsupervised Waterfront, as defined by the Lifesaving Society, meaning there are no lifeguards on duty and individuals are responsible for their own safety.
- "Use at Your Own Risk" is posted at all park access points and public water-safety equipment as a required safety warning.
- Key Aspects of "Use at Your Own Risk" Notice:
- Responsibility: The user takes on the responsibility for their own safety and any potential consequences.
- Warning: It is a warning about potential dangers associated with the activity, place, or product.
- No Liability: The supplier or owner of the activity, place, or product is disclaiming their liability for accidents, loss, or damage that may happen.
- This designation is standard for all large community lakes and water bodies and is supported by industry best practices for open-water activities and recreation.
- The MHOA maintains a robust eight-layer safety system that exceeds the Lifesaving Society's national minimum standards.
