Job Title:Seasonal Maintenance Grounds Keeper

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Grounds Keeper is responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, and safe operation of the Mahogany Homeowners Association’s facilities, parks, and lake. This position plays a key role in ensuring outdoor recreation and leisure spaces are clean, functional, and welcoming for residents. Duties include both summer and winter maintenance, supporting events, and operating a variety of mechanical and landscaping equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of parks, facilities, and lakefront areas
  • Conduct seasonal tasks such as:
    • Winter: Ice installation, resurfacing (RTV/ice-resurfacer operation), snow removal, sanding/salting pathways
    • Summer: Sand raking, landscaping, cleaning outdoor areas
  • Operate and maintain equipment including motorboats, utility vehicles, and ice maintenance tools
  • Monitor facility and lake systems (e.g., ice conditions, water quality, HVAC readings)
  • Conduct regular patrols to identify safety concerns or equipment malfunctions
  • Perform preventative maintenance and monthly safety checks on emergency equipment
  • Support the setup, takedown, and monitoring of special events and large-scale programs

Job Title: Outdoor Host Lead

Position Overview:

The Outdoor Host Lead is a key support role at Mahogany Lake, bridging the operational gap between the Outdoor Recreation Supervisor and the Outdoor Host team. This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day waterfront and recreation activities while providing on-site leadership in the absence of the Supervisor. The Outdoor Host Lead helps ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming lakefront environment by mentoring staff, enforcing safety protocols, and assisting with logistical coordination of rentals, equipment, and community programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Support
    • Provide daily leadership and direction to the Outdoor Host team when the Supervisor is unavailable.
    • Mentor new and returning staff to ensure consistent delivery of service and adherence to operational protocols.
    • Support training refreshers, task delegation, and accountability checks throughout shifts.
  • Operations & Customer Service
    • Oversee and assist with watercraft and sports equipment rentals, ensuring procedures are followed.
    • Act as the first point of contact for escalated guest concerns in the Supervisor’s absence.
    • Maintain a presence across the park and beach to support team needs and monitor service levels.
  • Safety, Cleanliness & Rule Enforcement
    • Monitor beach and lake areas for safety, enforce facility rules, and assist with emergency response when needed.

  • Maintenance & Inventory Support

  • Communication & Coordination
    • Communicate shift highlights, safety incidents, and inventory needs to the Outdoor Recreation Supervisor.
    • Support coordination of community events and group bookings alongside the Supervisor.
    • Assist with incident and rental reporting to maintain accurate shift records.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education & Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • 1+ year experience in outdoor recreation, customer service, or beach operations.
    • Prior leadership or supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Certifications
    • Valid First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

    • Lifesaving certification (e.g., Bronze Cross, NLS) is an asset.

Job Title: Outdoor Host

Position Overview:

The Outdoor Host plays a key role in delivering a fun, safe, and clean waterfront and recreational experience at Mahogany Lake. Reporting to the Outdoor Recreation Supervisor, this position involves facilitating boat rentals, promoting water safety education and ensuring patrons understand and comply with MHOAs regulations and guidelines.

Ideal candidates are energetic, enjoy working outdoors in various weather conditions, and excel at customer service and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service & Daily Operations
    • Greet residents and guests, answer questions, and provide guidance on available activities.
    • Facilitate rentals of watercraft (e.g., kayaks, paddleboards), lawn games, and other sports equipment, ensuring all equipment is clean, in good condition, and ready for use.
    • Educate patrons on beach and water safety, reinforcing facility rules, policies, and guidelines.
    • Maintain accurate records of equipment rentals, returns, and assist with basic administrative tasks as required.
  • Safety & Regulation Enforcement
    • Promote safe water practices by informing visitors of life jacket requirements, designated swimming areas, and potential environmental hazards.
    • Dynamic monitoring of waterfront activities to identify and address safety issues promptly including waterfront and park patrols.
    • Administer first aid and respond effectively to emergencies, following facility protocols.

  • Administrative Support

    • Familiarity with waterfront operations, boat handling, water safety, or sports equipment usage is beneficial.
  • Certifications

    • A recognized boating license or water safety training is advantageous.
    • National Lifesaving, Bronze Cross, or other relevant lifesaving certifications are a plus.

Position Overview:

Representing the Mahogany HOA, the Market Coordinator plays an integral role in the operation of individual markets, running. The position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the market, working with market vendors and other stakeholders, both internal and external to the market. In addition, the position works closely with the management team to ensure that set up and strategic plans for the organization are developed and implemented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete Market Manager Training and Food Safety Basics for Farmers’ Markets online food safety course within the required timeframe
  • Develop a reporting process with the General Manager or designate (Supervisor) to ensure proper communication pertaining to issues in the market
  • Keep the supervisor up to date with project progress and weekly market operations
  • Work with the Supervisor to develop and implement a strategic plan and annual action plans
  • Communicate respectfully with vendors, board members, sponsors, inspectors and other stakeholders
  • Assist vendors with their needs and respond in a timely manner via telephone, email and face to face inquiries
  • Ensure vendors have a copy of the rules at the start of the market season and they adhere to the market rules: Review and update annually
  • Be able to interpret the market rules for vendors and others in a consistent and fair manner. In some cases, this may result in disputes between vendors or between vendors and customers, which need to be diffused through a proper dispute process
  • Work with the Supervisor to develop and implement an emergency readiness plan
  • Have a working knowledge of legislation and associated regulations, both provincial and federal, which affects the vendors in the market
  • Ensure vendors and the market operations comply with all local bylaws and provincial and federal legislation. In order to meet the permit holder requirements of the Food Regulation, develop a process for inspecting all food vendors for compliance with the Regulation. This may include both in-person and virtual inspections as well as written documentation/checklists. Ensure AHS is updated with any changes
  • Responsible for prohibiting vendors from selling their products until they comply with all applicable legislation and market rules
  • Address regulatory issues within the market and with the vendors by working closely with the local public health inspector and other agency inspectors.
  • Ensure all food vendors have completed the Food Safety Basics for Farmers’ Markets online food safety course within the allotted timeframe and that all renewals are completed on time
  • Maintain accurate and complete records on the market and vendors throughout the year including vendor check in and payments received
  • Complete required Alberts Farmers Market reporting paperwork by January 15 of each year
  • Work with the Supervisor to determine the optimal market mix, always keeping in mind the 80/20 Rule
  • Actively recruit vendors to meet the optimal market mix
  • Ensure all new and returning vendors complete an application form listing their contact and product information
  • Represent the market in meetings with external stakeholders, building positive community relations
  • Work with the MHOA Marketing team to initiate media stories and promotions on the market using innovative techniques
  • Work with marketing to identify signage requirements. Ensure signs are displayed prominently in the community prior to each market date and removed following the event
  • Arrive at the market a set time period before the market opens to the public in order to mark out booth spaces, greet vendors when they arrive to set up their stalls and ensure they are in compliance with market policies
  • Be visible and accessible to vendors and customers during the market day
  • Prior to leaving the market at the end of the market day, ensure the market area is clean and meets all the requirements laid out in the market rental or lease agreement
  • Conduct periodic surveys, both formal and informal, to assess customer opinions and satisfaction with the market
  • Receive input from vendors and customers to improve the market

  • Debrief the Management Team and vendors after workshops, conferences and retreats

Position Overview:

The Customer Service Representative (CSR), under the direction of the Office Manager, is primarily responsible for executing all administrative tasks to the highest quality standard using efficient communication and multitasking skills while also holding a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. The CSR is the first point of contact either in person, on the telephone or via email and customers should feel welcomed in a positive environment in knowing they will receive help and friendly service. When not facing the customer, the CSR will also be responsible for general office tasks and projects.

Objective:

The position of Skatepark Instructor/Host requires the candidate to have an energetic approach, be very comfortable and enjoys working with members of the public, planning, instructing and imparting skateboarding knowledge and skills to program participants.  Our Skateboard Instructors will help promote a positive atmosphere and share their passion for skateboarding with those in the community. They will have an outgoing upbeat friendly attitude while confidently implementing and overseeing the skateboarding skills safety and skatepark etiquette and protocol. They will lead and instill one of inclusiveness, respect for all and be welcoming to all riders irrespective of skill and abilities. The instructor is responsible for teaching basic skating skills to children, ages 4-15, plus adults. Instructors must work very well with primary ages and they must have strong interpersonal skills to communicate with the participants’ parents. The Skateboard Instructor will host and function as a role model and leader on site, displaying and encouraging good skateboard etiquette and safety at all times while encouraging a quality skatepark learning experience for participants all while having fun!
