Direct Report: Facilities Manager

Objective:
The Mahogany Homeowners Association is seeking a Landscaping Supervisor to oversee and contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of the Mahogany community’s outdoor spaces under the Enhanced Landscape Maintenance Program.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this role is responsible for leading and working alongside the landscaping team to ensure high-quality grounds maintenance, strict adherence to safety protocols, and the effective execution of seasonal and special landscaping projects.
The ideal candidate is a skilled and experienced landscape professional with strong leadership abilities, a commitment to safety and environmental sustainability, and the expertise to manage both routine maintenance and larger-scale landscaping initiatives. This position requires hands-on involvement, team coordination, and a proactive approach to preserving and enhancing the beauty and functionality of the community’s green spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and work alongside the landscaping team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all safety practices and procedures are strictly followed by all team members. Conduct safety briefings and enforce compliance with workplace safety regulations.
- Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance: Oversee and participate in mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, pruning of trees and shrubs, and maintaining tree wells, medians, and boulevards within the Mahogany community.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and oversee the maintenance of landscaping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, irrigation systems, and blowers. Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs.
- Work Logging & Reporting: Accurately log all work performed, ensuring detailed documentation. Provide weekly progress updates to the Facilities Manager.
- Client & Community Interaction: Maintain positive relationships with facility users, community members, and clients by addressing inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Special Projects: Assist with and oversee special landscaping projects, including rehabilitation projects, xeriscaping, and environmentally sustainable landscape improvements.
- Lake & Water Management: Assist with lake water testing and water quality management procedures as required.
- Preventative Maintenance & Inventory Management: Conduct maintenance checks on emergency fire equipment. Complete inventory counts and compile supply orders for approval.
- Seasonal Duties: Support the park maintenance crew when required, assisting with seasonal maintenance tasks such as snow removal, sand raking, and general upkeep of park grounds.
- Compliance & Workplace Conduct: Act in accordance with federal and provincial legislation, as well as corporate and departmental policies and procedures, ensuring a respectful and safe workplace.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in landscaping or grounds maintenance, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Certifications (Preferred): Horticultural certifications, ISA Certified Arborist, or Pesticide Applicator License.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with horticulture including species selection and installation, irrigation systems, and landscape design principles.
- Equipment Proficiency: Experience with operating and maintaining various landscaping machinery and tools.
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to supervise a team, delegate tasks, and ensure efficiency in daily operations.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively lead a team, provide clear instructions, and interact with clients and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accurate record-keeping and task tracking.

Working Conditions:

Objective:
The Mahogany Homeowners Association is seeking a highly motivated and physically capable Seasonal Landscaper to join our team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Landscaping Supervisor, contributing to the maintenance and upkeep of the community’s parks, green spaces, and recreational areas.
The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to perform manual landscaping tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grounds Maintenance: Assist in maintaining lawns, tree wells, medians, boulevards, and other landscaped areas by mowing, trimming, edging, and weeding.
- Tree & Shrub Care: Prune and maintain trees and shrubs, clean curbs, and assist in maintaining traffic circles.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, irrigation systems, and blowers. Perform routine daily inspections and basic upkeep of tools.
- Work Logging & Reporting: Ensure all completed work is logged accurately and report any issues or concerns to the Landscaping Supervisor.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines, including proper handling of tools and equipment. Report any hazards or safety concerns immediately.
- Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional assistance to facility users and community members, answering inquiries and helping to resolve any issues.
- Special Projects: Support various landscaping projects, including rehabilitation projects, xeriscaping, and other environmentally sustainable landscape improvements.
- Lake & Water Management: Assist with lake water testing and water quality management tasks as required.

- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, bend, stoop, and work in various weather conditions.

Position Overview:
The Security Supervisor is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and supervising the Security Team while actively participating in patrol operations. Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, this role ensures consistent enforcement of park rules, effective incident response, and high standards of professionalism. The Supervisor leads by example, working alongside Security Officers during patrols, special events, and peak operational periods.

- Ensure adequate patrol coverage across all facilities and park areas

The Mahogany Homeowners Association is seeking a highly motivated and physically capable Security personnel to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside other team members to provide exceptional security services to our clients. The mobile patrol officer will be responsible for performing a variety of checks to ensure safety of residents and the rules are being followed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all building and room entrances are closed properly on a regular basis;
- Enforce all park rules and procedures with residents, guests and renters;
- Check in with staff regularly;
- Communicate effectively with team members, and management;
- Actively patrol the park and perform random resident checks to ensure park users are residents;
- Provide excellent customer service to all users/visitors to the facility by answering questions, resolve issues and document incidents as required;
- Complete required incident/accident reports on the appropriate forms and submit to the Supervisor;
- Participate in department meetings, initiatives and training activities;
- Act in accordance with federal and provincial legislation as well as corporate and departmental policies and procedures;
