Parade of Lights & Tree of Hope

Parade of Lights & Tree of Hope

The first Saturday of December (December 6, 2025), kicks off the Christmas Season in Mahogany! Santa and Mrs. Claus are able to get away from the North Pole during this busy time, and join in the festivities. Residents line the streets to show their holiday spirit and cheer for local businesses and community groups that have come together to create floats for Mahogany’s very own parade! Following the parade, head on over to the Beach Club, grab a cup of hot chocolate and cheer on the lighting of the Tree of Hope! Coloured light bulbs can be purchased ahead of time, with all proceeds going towards the Veterans Association Food Bank.

Would you like a front row spot to watch the Parade of Lights this year? Then come volunteer as a Parade Marshal!! This position is an integral part of the parade to ensure it runs smoothly and safely, and would only take about an hour or so of your time. Marshals are positioned along the parade route at the intersections, in conjunction with the Calgary Police, to ensure spectators are viewing safely and vehicles are kept off of the road while the parade is en route. Once the parade passes your assigned intersection, traffic may flow freely again and your volunteer duty is complete!

A 30 minute mandatory safety meeting to review the details of your tasks will take place on Thursday, November 27 at 6:30pm.
