Parade of Lights
Come on out December 8th to celebrate the holiday season alongside your neighbours with Mahogany’s 2nd Annual Community Parade starting at 5:00 pm. For parade marshalling please contact email@example.com!
The Parade will be approximately 1.7 km long (30-45 mins), beginning at the Divine Mercy School Parking Lot and ending on Masters Blvd. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will lead the Parade, which will also include local groups and businesses as well as some other special surprise guests. A Celebrity Guest Judge will be present to judge the Best Float!!!
Bring a toy for the Toy Drive* to the parade, where Parade walkers will come around and collect them from the spectators for the Ronald MacDonald House, providing toys to those families less fortunate this holiday season.
Mahogany Tree of Hope
Make your way down to the Beach Club after the parade from 6:30 – 7:30pm and join your neighbours in some carolling by the fire (roasting marshmallows of course) while you watch the Mahogany Tree of Hope light up. Hot chocolate and cookies will also be provided.
Non-perishable food items or cash donations for the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank will be accepted at the gate, where you will also be entered in a prize draw!
You can help us light up the Mahogany Tree of Hope by buying a colored light bulb and each bulb purchased will be added to light up the first Mahogany Tree of Hope. All light bulb donations will go to the Calgary Food Bank
You can purchase one or as many of these bulbs at the Mahognay Beach Club either via debit, credit or cheque and all proceeds go to the Clagary Food Bank. Your donation for your bulb and will be recognized on a Donation board at the Mahogany Tree of Hope and will be on display at the beach club through out the holiday season.
Let’s light up the tree with color Mahogany, and get your family or your neighborhood to pitch in and buy a bulb to give a little hope to those struggling to put food on the table this Holiday Season. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or 403 453 1221.
Here Comes Santa Claus!
Photos with Santa Claus will be taking place in the Mahogany Banquet Hall from 3:30 - 8:30pm by appointment. Courtesy of the Mike Burton Home Team and Tim Lacroix Mortgage Team! More details will be released when appointments become available.
The holiday season is just around the corner, reminding us that many out-of-town families with sick children will call The Ronald McDonald House “home” this Christmas. Help make the holidays a little bit brighter this year for the kids and families at the Ronald McDonald House by donating an unwrapped gift at the Parade of Lights.
Due to the immune suppressed nature of the children staying at the house, they cannot accept used toys. Suitable donations include gift cards of all kinds, clothes, toiletries, travel mugs, movie passes and more. Please feel free to contact Kim or Noelle at email@example.com for more information on recommended items.
